How It Works
At Dona Mécia, you can rent your dream piece from a curated selection of international designers for 4 or 8 days, all from the comfort of your home with just a few clicks.
1. Book
Choose one or more dresses from our collection for a rental period of 4 or 8 days. Please check our Sizing Guide and consider our shipping and return policies when planning your rental period.
2. Wear
Your dress should arrive on or just before your selected start date via DHL package delivery. You’ll receive all relevant shipping details in your confirmation email.
If your dress arrives late, doesn’t fit, or is damaged or stained, please contact us immediately. We’ll find a solution together. Enjoy your dress and share your experience with us!
3. Return
After your event, place the dress back into the package, seal it securely, and attach the provided return label. Drop it off at your local DHL parcel shop by 3 PM on the last day of your rental.
No need to worry about cleaning—we handle professional cleaning for the next customer. If your dress has significant stains or damage, please reach out to us.

We and all our dresses are based in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. From the heart of Europe, we curate our dress selection, create content, and ship to and receive from the entire EU/Schengen area.
RENTING ITEMS
Our booking tool allows you to select only available 4- or 8-day rental periods. It will show exactly when the dress is available and automatically block Sundays as a start or end date.
As long as you select the same rental period for each dress, you are welcome to rent two or more dresses.
Since we do not rent out items owned by third parties, we need to ensure protection against non-returns or damage. Therefore, at checkout, you authorize the purchase price of the dress. However, this amount is neither deducted nor blocked on your account — it is simply an authorization, not a deposit.
You can rest assured: This amount will only be charged if the dress is not returned at all or comes back severely damaged. In most cases, we can resolve minor issues through direct communication. For example, a missing button or a zipper issue is understandable.

Your booking is initially a request and only becomes binding for both parties upon receipt of our confirmation email. Normally, you should only not receive a confirmation if the dress suddenly becomes unavailable.
SIZING & FIT
As with all online shopping, it can be tricky to determine the perfect fit. To make things easier for you, we provide information on fit, material, and specific details in the item description, as well as a sizing guide featuring the model's measurements and reference images. If the dress does not fit as expected, we can issue a credit for the dress value upon request after we receive the return, which you can use for your next rental at Dona Mécia.
DELIVERY
We exclusively use DHL and its selected partners within the EU for shipping. Therefore, returns can only be processed through a DHL parcel shop or an official DHL partner.
Your dress is scheduled to arrive on or before the start date of your rental. We recommend setting your start date 1-2 days before your event to ensure timely arrival.
You should receive a shipping confirmation email with your DHL tracking number and further details after receiving your booking confirmation.
If you do not receive a shipping confirmation email within 48 hours, please contact us via email (info@donamecia.com) or Instagram (@donamecia).
We cannot be held liable for damage or loss of a dress once it has been handed over to the carrier, whether on its way to you or back to us. However, we will assist you in initiating a search with the carrier and seeking compensation as quickly as possible. DHL has inquiry portals and excellent customer service to help with such cases.
For orders exceeding a value of €800, a signature from the person who placed the order is required upon delivery or pickup at a DHL parcel shop. Additionally, ID verification will be necessary for security reasons.
We and all our dresses are based in Germany. From here, we curate our dress selection, create content, and handle shipments to and from the entire EU. Your location will affect delivery times, so please consider this when selecting your rental period. Before confirming your booking, we always check whether your dress will arrive on time.
Unfortunately, no. Due to logistical and security reasons, we do not currently ship to countries outside the EU/Schengen area.
RETURNING ITEMS
We hope you enjoyed your rental! The final rental date must be the latest day by which you must drop off your package at a DHL parcel shop or partner by 3 PM.
How?
Your package includes a small instruction sheet, a return label, and sealing materials for the box. Please open the package carefully along the designated opening area and use the provided materials to reseal it for return shipping.
No!
Cleaning is included in your rental fee. Each dress is professionally cleaned upon return and before being sent to the next customer. Please do not attempt to clean the dress yourself under any circumstances. If there is excessive staining, contact us, and we will find a solution together. Any damages, cleaning traces, or alterations made to the dress may result in a fee, as outlined in our User Agreement.Please do not remove this label! It is sewn in with a special stitch to be invisible when worn and helps us distinguish our dresses from potential fraudulent returns.
If removed, we will have to verify the authenticity of the dress and take action according to our User Agreement.
Ideally, you should ensure that you have access to a DHL parcel shop or partner in advance. However, if unforeseen circumstances prevent you from returning the package via DHL, contact us before your rental period ends, and we will find a solution together. Alternatively, you can ship it through another carrier at your own expense.
When renting a dress, it is your responsibility to plan ahead and ensure that you can drop off your return package at a DHL parcel shop or partner by 3 PM on your return date. As stated in our Rental Agreement, if you return the item later than agreed, late fees will apply.
The fee for each additional day is calculated by dividing your total rental fee by the number of rental days. For example, if you selected a 4-day rental for €360.00, a late fee of €90.00 per day would be charged.
These things happen! In this case, you must purchase a new return label at your own expense via DHL online or at a DHL parcel shop and send us the tracking number as soon as possible. This will ensure a successful return through DHL.
DAMAGE OR LOSS
We understand that accidents happen, so there’s no need to panic. Minor damages (e.g., a missing button, a loose stitch) can usually be repaired at no extra charge. For more significant damage, a repair or replacement fee may apply as outlined in our Rental Agreement. Please do not attempt any repairs yourself, as this could worsen the damage and lead to additional charges. If something happens, just reach out to us — we’re here to help!
As the renter, you are responsible for the item from the moment it is delivered to you until you return it. Always keep it in a safe place and do not leave it unattended, with a friend, or in a location where it could be lost.
If the item goes missing, inform us immediately—even if you think it might turn up later. We may need to notify other customers with upcoming bookings so they have time to find an alternative. If the dress is lost, you will be responsible for covering the full replacement cost as stated in our Rental Agreement.
